About Water Management

The St. Paul District Water Management Office collects and manages water data from approximately 100 gages located in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. This includes the monitoring of 27 projects (14 reservoirs, 13 lock and dams).

The Water Management Team provides guidance on regulating District Reservoirs and Locks to meet project purposes, including:

  • Navigation
  • Flood Control
  • Recreation
  • Fish and Wildlife
  • Low Flow Augmentation
  • Water Supply

Our Engineers utilize the Corps Water Management System (CWMS) to analyze real time lake and river conditions.
